Good points:
It's an amazing peice of hardware, it's so well designed and put together. It oozes quality and improves drawing skill over time and productivity goes through the roof, what took you 30 mins on the Intuos 4, now takes 10 to 15 mins on the Cintiq. There is notjing to get used to like when using Intuos 4, the hand eye co-ordination is as natural as drawing on paper, and that's it's charm and it's major selling point for me.

You get what you pay for... you do not look at it and think, "hmmm, Wacom; that could have been better.." It's superb, top quality & top marks!
Bad points:
One small thing, and this is probably just me... but it seems you have loads of express keys at first, but considering on the Intuos 4 XL you have 8 keys plus the 'Touch Ring' [giggle] on the left side (or right depending on preference) - so with a mere 5 on the cintiq, there's three missing for me, as alternatively you need to stop drawing and use your drawing hand for other right hand side express shortcuts. But honestly....it's no biggy... the Cintiq 24 HD is a very wise investment for any creative.

Make sure you get your contents insurance sorted out to accommodate for this pricey doodle gadget! ;)

Good points:
This is a stunning piece of kit, it's already transformed my work method. It really can't help doing that, as it's so big! The desk-overhang position is really comfortable, and it really does feel like a proper drawing board. Takes a little getting used to from just using a standard tablet, as sometimes your hand gets in the way of toolbars etc but of course, you just have to rearrange your desktop. I draw a lot of comics/line illustration, and even from the point of view of cleaning up a scanned image, it clearly saves time and is much better than the hand-eye coordination that I spent a lot of time trying to perfect using the standard Wacom tablet version. Expensive but worthwhile.
Bad points:
Expensive, but it's that kind of a unit. Its main drawback - particularly setting up - is, as everyone mentions, its extraordinary weight. It uses a counterweight system which works very well, but by gum it's HEAVY! I'm a fairly robust bloke, but it's at the extreme end of what I can move unassisted. I staggered upstairs with it and really felt my arm muscles for days afterwards. It's also a little like a deck chair in its awkwardness when moving, and I really would recommend two-person lifting. A sturdy desk is required!
