Score 9.0/10
Good points:
very light weight, perfect size for commuting and carrying in a backpack (almost unnoticeable in a bag) But still large enough to have a full size keyboard (which is a pleasure to type on) and a screen large enough to enjoy watching iplayer and films on. Battery life is brilliant; not quite as good as stated, i can get 6 hours from a full charge (which takes around 3 hours if the laptop is switched off and 5 hours if the laptop is being used) if literally just typing a word document, whereas if playing music, browsing the web and playing around on photoshop simultaneously this drops to about 3 (which is still very good compared with most other laptops), however I have never had anywhere near the toshiba-claimed 8 hours.
As for performance; this laptop copes with everything I throw at it. While typing this review I have photoshop, itunes, Canon digital photo professional, and google chrome all running, and it's as smooth as ever. The only time i get issues is when accessing my external hard drive with more than 3 applications at once, this causes applications accessing the external data to slow down.
The external ports are perfect; 3 USB means i can plug an external HDD and a mouse in, and still have a spare slot. The HDMI means I can plug it straight into the TV and watch movies in full HD.
New toshiba laptops also come with brilliant function keys allowing you to adjust the brightness, power plan, volume, external monitors, wireless, blutooth, and a bunch of other things from holding the function key + a number, making it stupidly easy to have control over every aspect of your laptop. Ideal.
Bad points:
webcam quality is terrible, almost useless. Speakers are not amazing, however not as awful as some people claim (i was actually surprised at their clarity up to a respectable volume). All i can really compare it too volume wise is; its loud enough to listen to music against the sound of frying bacon and a noisy extractor fan.
I have rated the design a 7, as i feel the screen is rather flimsy; if i pick up the laptop by the screen rather than the base, it seems like it could snap off due to being so thin (meaning its lightweight). This isnt really an issue for me because im not clumsy and doubt im going to ever drop it, or knock it. However, if you're prone to damaging things maybe consider another model, as this one is not built like a tank. Saying this however, i take my laptop everywhere and its only protection is a super thin sleeve, and the thing still looks good as new, so maybe im being paranoid.

Drew, Worthing General home user

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
I have only had the Satellite R630-13T for just over a month, but so far has been superb all round. I would definately recommend this laptop, its best features include its rediculous light weight, long battery life, very good processing power and a very nice keyboard similar to what you would expect to find on a macbook ( which would have cost me double what i paid).
Bad points:
This laptop does not really have any bad points. The only two areas of improvement that i could think of is perhaps a backlit keyboard and perhaps a seperate graphics card, however the intel HD graphics have far exceeded my expectations.
