Good points:
Battery life not yet tested. I like the big 17" screen and this, in combination with an i5 processor at a very reasonable price, made this model a good buy from my local Staples store.
Bad points:
I wish there were more USB sockets, but this hasn't been a huge problem to date.

Score 4.0/10
Good points:
Lightweight
Bad points:
Widescreen useless for general use and i never watch films on it so why the 16:9 format

The keyboard is trully the worst i have ever used on a laptop. The keys are rubbish and they make a rattling noise.

I wish I could take it back to the shop for a refund.

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
This is my second Toshiba laptop, the last one was running Windows Vista ( Still working as well as the day I bought it). However this one is far superior with new new Intel i5 processor and Windows 7 64 bit version. All my programs I used on Windows XP run perfectly on this laptop. The graphics are brilliant and the sound from the speakers are great.

Encoding video files is very fast with the Intel i5 procesor and 4GB RAM, and with a 500GB hard drive I hardly use my external hard drive for storage anymore. The Toshiba Bulletin Board is good for monitoring the systems status battery, CPU temp etc.

Creating recovery discs was very simple to do. I found the Toshiba Technical Support people were very good at answering the few questions I did have about the laptop

I would definitely recommend this laptop, great value for the price.
Bad points:
The only two points I would advise Toshiba to change are for switching the WiFi on and off instead of having to press the fn and f8 buttons, use one button on the keyboard or as on my last laptop one a simple switch to flick on or off.

The keyboard is good, but with all the keys and the facia being black can be difficult to see the keys in poor light.

Score 6.0/10
Good points:
Good picture quality
Good size hard drive
Quite fast (even with Windows 7)
Bad points:
USB ports in awkward positions on computer. Would MUCH prefer all of them to be at the back rather than the sides.
Rattley, clattery, indecisive keyboard. In comparison to my ex-Sony Vaio AR21 - very bad keyboard.
For a 17" monitor I'd expect a bit more resolution than 1600 * 900 (Harping on about Sony Vaio again - I think that was 1920 x 1200 or something like that)
Absolutely disastrous in-built speakers. As they are so useless and tinny not quite sure why the manufacturers bothered including them? The only thing they are good for is for the beeps and bongs when you type a wrong character in Microsoft Word (say)
Very noisy fan

Amir, London General home user

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Performance, weight, Screen resolution and brightness, large
Keyboard, ease of use.
Bad points:
the construction of the bottom Of the casing is of very cheap material.
It's flimsy, and cheaper than cheap. There is no position mechanism
To lock the laptop in the closed position. There are no short cut keys
For email, web, etc......

Gloss finished screen is annoying . It should be matt finish.

I would be pleased to help Toshiba design the next version.
