Confirmed purchase: 15 Feb 2011

Confirmed purchaser Often on the move

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Positive - Excellent performance coupled with a good battery life and sensible weight. The surface finish of the case is easy to manage and doesn`t show the finger marks like some glossy/shiney models can. Screen resolution and size are excellent.
Neutral - The addition of a number pad to the right of the keyboard may be useful for some - personally indifferent. However, it does mean that the top right-hand-side key is not "delete" but "PGDN". This does cause me some issues when aiming for Delete and actually hitting Page Down. I was unsure about the offset touchpad but this works out ok noting that the number pad is the item that moves all the operating activity to the left (a bit).
Bad points:
Keys on the keyboard are a bit clunky to use. Ok if you are a slow to medium rate typist but I imagine a fast keyboard user would find them a bit slow to use. The left and right mouse buttons on the touchpad are very "industrial". You will be very clear that you have pressed the button - a loud click results. The chassis is light and this (on my machine) means that on a firm surface, when the screen is open and tilted back so it can be viewed, the front left hand side of the base unit lifts up (the foot lifts off of the desk). As a consequence, it does amplify the noisy nature of the keys as you strike them sometimes causing the chassis to resonate.

Michael, Amersham General home user

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
This is my first laptop previously had a tower,I have found it quick to start, very fast and easy to navigate, useing Windows Seven instead of XP 2000 may be the reason. Anyway well recomended
Bad points:
Being a 'silver surfer' and first time user of a laptop I found it difficult to keep up with the cursor as it moved so fast, but I have bought a wireless mouse and keyboard set as I am based at home and find it a lot better but still a whole lot quicker than the tower.

ian , higham ferrers General home user

Score 6.0/10
Good points:
None really - A fairly robust build and fairly good performance. However this is nothing more than would be expected from any Laptop Computer.
Bad points:
After 2.5 years the Laptop failed to power up - the Power supply was working as expected, so the problem was internal to the PC.
However the Warranty had expired and the cost of repair made it better value to replace the PC - I did replace it, but I chose not to stay with Toshiba.
