Score 8.0/10
Good points:
The styling is particularly good. The touch sensitive controls for volume etc are particularly notable as is the means to switch off the touchpad with a simple button toggle. The sound system is v.good and the internal speakers more than up the job too. Processor and drive / graphics package all perform as expected. A fast machine with excellant response times.
Bad points:
One flaw for me with the layout is the non-central touchpad; right-handers will generally use their right index finger to control the cursor via the pad and this means using the left hand as a cross-over! Bigger battery as standard would be worth the extra - can't watch a full film without plugging in! Too much in-house software with no clear means to by-pass it or switch it out of the boot sequence - unless you have the knowledge!

Good points:
I liked it the moment i frst saw it so I took the opportunity to play around with it alot before i bought it.
I like the design, the looks and the feel. Specs are good too.
Bad points:
Not much I don,t like but the battery life could be a lot better. as a portable machine I would expect to use my laptop a lot longer away from the mains

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Good quality screen and nice feel to the keyboard.
Speedy start-up and easy to use functions.
Bad points:
Opening the laptop is difficult. The laptop lifts from the desk as one tries to open the unit. The hard drive is very sensitive to any movement whatsoever - a mere tap on the leg of the desk gets you a sharp message from the machine!

Anthea, London General home user

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
The size and format of the keyboard is good. It has been eight years since I bought my last laptop, and I'm delighted with all the technical improvements such as the sharp screen display and the wide screen which greatly improves the viewing of photos and other images, essential to my work, and the incorporation of good quality speakers and camera.
Bad points:
My problem is the instability of the screen display, which fails occasionally but recovers itself in a few moments.
I miss the standard supply of a recovery disk, as one has to create one's own disk, but this is not a real problem. I miss the software that used to come bundled as standard, particularly Microsoft Office and Microsoft Express, which have to be purchased separately. But I understand this to be because purchasers now prefer to make their own choice of software such as Linux. Given that my current new and improved model is even cheaper than the one I purchased 8 years ago, I can't really complain of having to buy in some software.
