Score 8.0/10
Good points:
The keyboard is clear and easy to use. General size and weight is good. Battery life reliable so far.
Bad points:
It comes loaded with lots of tiresome games and advertising material which have to be removed. I've found it slow to start, but getting rid of stuff helped. It can also be irritatingly slow to close down- there always seems to be an update going on.

John, Dublin General home user

Score 7.0/10
Good points:
elegant design. good reputation of manufacturer.
Bad points:
Had to buy 1GB of extra memory to get stuff to work at decent speeds. Battery life shorter that reviews stated. Win7 Starter OS is useless - wiped the drive and installed Linux Mint. Extra bloatware from manufacturer should be optional.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
The NB550D has been well thought through as netbooks go. Big plus point is the HDMI facility, just alter the resolution though the control panel and watch online media through the TV with no problems other than the NB550D cannot cope with full HD media but 720p shouldnt pose too many problems. Windows 7 starter should suffice for most and once upgraded to 2Gb RAM the machine runs that little bit better, I'm currently running firefox 4 therefore web browsing is as quick as any laptop I've owned/used. In summary If you can live without an optical drive and not too fussed full 1080p HD capability then this is the netbook for you. It's a heavy hitter for it's size and the speakers/sound quality will blow you away.
Bad points:
Only 1Gb RAM....upgrade to 2Gb a must and very easy for the novice with guidance from uploaded vids on youtube.....
