Michael, Always use sat nav

Score 1.0/10
Good points:
Active Mount
Good screen size
Capacitive screen
Bad points:
Really bad design flaws in the software. The "next instruction" bubble sits right at the top of the display completely obscuring your view of the exits when you're approaching a roundabout.

3d Buildings on maps are gimmicky and obscure the roads which is the bit you're interested in.

The Bluetooth pairing to my Galaxy S4 worked first time but struggled to connect on subsequent occasions, no menu option to unpair from a paired device.

I managed to get into a help menu that had no back or exit option and could only escape by resetting the device.

Compared to previous Tomtom products I've owned this is a really pared down basic device but commands a higher price tag and frankly isn't worth it. My previous Tomtom supported a Bluetooth remote control but the Bluetooth on this model is purely used for pairing to a compatible phone to obtain traffic updates.

Nick, Chiswick Always use sat nav

Score 3.0/10
Good points:
Has lifetime maps and free traffic, new user interface.
Bad points:
Doesn't work straight out of the box, had to tether with my iPhone which was a long complicated process. Also running bluetooth drains the battery and uses extra data on my plan. Search bar is confusing and takes some getting used to.
