Good points:
Brilliant bit of Tech kit, I brought this with 2no 3tb Western Digital Red Drives and I couldn't be more pleased.
The main reason I use this is to act a the main storage for my HTPC running XMBC and it streams fine over Wireless and the Cat5.
The GUI is easy to navigate and very easy to set up but you do need to know what you are going so not really something a novice should buy thinking you can just plug it in.
Bad points:
Can be a tad slow when running numerous applications but to be expected for the price.

Malc, Quiet, compact, reliable

Good points:
Fantastic if you are running a HTPC and are tired of plugging/unplugging external hard drives in to access your movies/tv shows etc. or simply want to share your files with a household.

The ability to access your files anywhere via several smart phone applications and directly via the web. Even stream videos from your NAS to a tablet or mobile phone.

Very small and quiet if you opt for the Western Digital RED drives.
Bad points:
None.

Good points:
Great as a file server. Lots of apps available for the Synology
Bad points:
This is the budget Syn' and it really really is. The CPU is dreadfully slow. However if you just want this as a file server, or time machine backup it's great, but very overpriced in that regard. The apps do work but really slowly. Perhaps one at a time. It's also worth creating image thumbnails first before enabling photo station. Plenty of forum articles about that. Oh and I couldn't believe no wake on LAN. Apparently the 213j has that and a bit quicker too. Wish that was out before I bought this

Martin, leicester Im an IT Technician

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
I installed 2 drives, 1tb for storage and 2tb for backups.
Once i setup the NAS and opened the ports for external use, i can now store all my photos using the photostation and allow other members in my family to upload photos to my nas from there own home via computer or mobile device, stream music and videos and download content and share with whom ever i want.

Theres so much this little thing can offer, weither for home use or bussiness, with its active directory and setting up emails and allowing people to login and store all there documents and files on to the drive.
You can setup printer share and allow people to print. Along with backups.
Theres other services that are offered in which ive still yet to look into myself, but i have this setup just the way i need into and you dont need a desktop, monitor keyboard or mouse with it, just connect this to the network and login via the web ip and set the services up to how you want it, and leave it to do its thing.

Worth the money and time setting this up. Wish i brought one much sooner.
Bad points:
None that ive noticed. Could be some, nothing is perfect.
