Good points:
Stylish, easy to set up, comes with wireless keyboard and remote, from standby it turns on in no time
Bad points:
the wireless kepboard. I can't get used to the touchpad and sometimes typing is difficult (it looks like the connection to the pc break for a split second and then it misses a couple of letters)

Score 3.0/10
Good points:
IT'S LOOKS. IT SITS UNDER THE TELEVISION IN THE LOUNGE WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE A COMPUTER
Bad points:
IT IS SOLD AS A HOME MEDIA COMPUTER FOR THE LOUNGE YET HAVING BOUGHT THE MACHINE IT DOES NOT CONNECT UP TO SKY OR CABLE AND THEREFORE ONLY RECORDS FROM FREEVIEW WHICH NEGATES THE REASON FOR BUYING THE COMPUTER FOR USE AS PART OF MY HOME MEDIA SET-UP.
I ALREADY HAVE ANOTHER COMPUTER AND LAP-TOP.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Looks fantastic, really stylish and subtle.
Really quiet, you can hardly tell it's on.
Lots of ports for USB/ sd cards etc
Easy to use, simply plug and play.
Bad points:
Windows Vista, definitely upgrade to windows 7 if you can.
The remote feels cheap and if you have an xbox 360 the remote turns it on when performing some functions.
Touch mouse on the keyboard is rubbish although the keys are good, buy a wireless mouse.

Manufacturer's Description

Round and Revolutionary

Unique in every sense, the elegant VAIO TP represents a bold new approach to lifestyle home entertainment.

Its circular design and lustrous black finish blends perfectly with contemporary interior décor and looks good from any angle.

Just 27cm in diameter, you can keep it on a shelf, cabinet or even on the floor if you wish, as well as on a desktop beside your PC monitor. Being small, it can easily be carried from room to room too.

Instant Connectivity

With just two cords and a refreshing lack of wires, this revolutionary media centre has been designed for easy installation.

Simply plug the VAIO TP into a power socket and connect it to a TV or a PC monitor, then enjoy all your favourite home entertainment wherever you choose. There’s an optical drive with one touch access for playing DVDs plus USB ports and a multi-card reader for storing and sharing multimedia files.

Quiet and Cool

Here’s a VAIO that combines eye-catching styling with discrete operation.

VAIO TP is an extremely quiet addition to your home with a unique and innovative ‘floating’ hard disc drive that keeps vibration low and noise to a bare minimum.

An air intake fan cools down the optical drive and hard disk drive while an air exhaust fan disperses heat efficiently to ensure the PC remains cool.

Perfect Partner

This multi-purpose media centre easy connects up with a TV and the web so you can enjoy your PC entertainment anywhere at anytime.

Watch television while viewing information online about the programme, order videos on demand, share photos over the net with distant relatives, shop and chat online, download latest music clips and catch up with friends via e-mail or blog.

All from your sofa, bed or study chair.

Smooth Operation

The style-coordinated wireless keyboard makes VAIO TP really easy to use.

Light and compact with a 10 metre range so you can work and play from anywhere in the room, it includes a handy touch pad with vertical and side scroll plus a click button for true PC operation.

Both the keyboard and remote control have been designed to work smoothly together, giving you total freedom to enjoy your multimedia.

Easy Media Management

On board is Windows Vista® Home Premium, the latest operating system from Microsoft®.

With its new-look interface, Windows Vista® lets you navigate around your PC with ease, find files in an instant and share them with friends and family.

Windows Media Center takes care of all your digital entertainment and makes it easier than ever to enjoy photos, TV programmes, movies and music collections.

Fast and Furious

Make no mistake, VAIO TP is first and foremost a powerful VAIO with all the latest cutting-edge computing technology. A lightning fast Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor including two cores for optimum performance speeds up downloads, provides smoother video streaming and ensures efficient multi-tasking. Its compact design contributes to the small size and discrete style of the media centre.

Effortless Multimedia

With its huge 500GB hard disc drive and integrated double digital TV tuner, the VAIO TP is a sophisticated and very competitively priced Personal DVD Recorder.

Store favourite digital (DVB-T) and analogue programmes without having to worry about running out of space, as well as music and photo collections, presentations and data-intensive files. All your multimedia in one convenient place.
