Good points:
The laptop is heavy and a little chunky, yet despite this its looks are strong and really quite elegant. For me the mat-black finish is awesome and much cooler than the many shades of grey available these days. The laptop being the size that it is, allows for the keyboard to be well spaced, and includes a numeric keypad - very user friendly. The large screen is fantastic! and helps me to justify the price tag - the speakers are also great. You see, really I bought this laptop because of its film watching capabilities - to watch the opening scene of The Dark Knight on it, is a pleasure.
I personally use my laptop as if it were a desktop; in that it sits on my desk and rarely moves (I always attach a USB mouse). But of course if I wanted to move it that would be no problem, and when I'm finished with it, I can simply close it and put it discretely out of the way... I am saying this because I champion and appreciate this genre of laptop, and look forward to companies like Sony making models with larger, sharper screens, crisper, more dynamic speakers, faster processing power (but not necessarily more terabytes, see bad points), and always sharp elegant looks - despite the size.
Bad points:
Given that this laptop is designed with Photo editing in mind, it does of course have a massive hard drive capacity... however, I would gladly give up some of that for greater RAM and processing power - one can always buy an external hard drive if needs be.
The laptop is a little expensive, and this has always seemed to be the way with Sony - they get away with their price tag, because of their strong branding, cheeky, but we pay in the end!
This particular range of Sony laptop has three models with differing abilities - it really annoys me when they flash the photograph of the top model everywhere, and how sometimes it's not until you're in the process of purchasing that you realise the entry model (which you've just about stretched your budget for) is not even the same colour as the images you've been looking at! In this case a strange purple instead of black! They also do exactly the same thing with the specification - CAREFUL TO CHECK IF THE ONE YOU ARE BUYING IS TRUELY HD COMPATIBLE. So please Sony, have some dignity, and keep at least the design build consistent!!! ...rant aside.
I also feel that Sony isn’t pushing themselves enough. I say this with respect to their competition, Macintosh, they could nail them if they wanted to.
All in all though, acknowledging my little experience in the computer world, I am very pleased with this product.

Good points:
Excellent laptop giving fantastic performance. Great screen size and keyboard. Comes with great trial products such as computer security etc
Bad points:
Only slight downside is the weight, which is a little heavy when being carried, but this is to be expected with the screen size and what the product can do, after all the screen size is bigger than some desk top monitors, and I have another smaller screen laptop 15.4 for on the move which I find odd when i use due to a smaller keyboard and I tend to favour this one even when both are in their original boxes and I have to unpack.

Good points:
The powerful laptop is very light compared with other makes. The keyboard is a dream once you get used to it. The screen is absolutely first class but the big bonus for me is the ability to record on blue ray disc.
Bad points:
Value for money is poor, but quality often comes with a higher price
