Good points:
Smart looks and quick (Win 7 Business). Excellent screen.
Bad points:
Probably as much due to the operating system as the laptop itself.
Overpriced, no back up discs supplied as standard (should be for the price charged).
Compatibility issues with Windows 7 64bit, full restore necessary after only 2 weeks, and still cannot load/operate some of my software.
I still cannot trust the computer's reliability sufficiently to take it on business trips abroad, and have upgraded hard drive of my ageing Asus Lamborghini VX2S. I intend to continue using the rock solid Asus for work rather than the new Vaio. Regrettable purchase!

Good points:
It is very light, it boots up in no time, the screen has great quality, the look is fantastic, it is easy to both type and use the mouse pad.
Bad points:
The screen is a tiny bit too small. I would love it to be about 1cm taller because I think it would accommodate much more internet content with slightly larger font size.

Good points:
Works very smoothly, feels good, thoughtful layout, it's definitely growing on me, having been used to a Mac & other brands of windows computers
Bad points:
Would have liked less, or different, pre-installed software, i.e. no Norton, and to be made aware that PMB makes a lot of thumbnails.
These are minor points and so far I appreciate the overall thoughtfulness that went into the design & functionability of my Sony.

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Excellent desktop replacement.
Performance of the machine combined with Windows 7 is truly superb.
Design is well thought out and appealing.
Keyboard is a real pleasure to use.
Definitely worth paying the extra to have the premium screen, which is truly, err...premium (best in class)!
Sound quality is better than expected from a laptop.
USB 3 ports are a real bonus.
Contrary to some of the comments I have seen online, the extra "bloatware" included is actually very good - the "Care" Programme for automatic maintenance tasks and PMB for example are both well worth having.
Again, contrary to some of the comments that I have read online, the unit does not run hot and the fan is not excessively loud.
Bad points:
Had to re-seat keyboard on arrival - not what I expected, but probably a transit issue & not a big problem.
Battery life is poor and is probably the biggest negative differentiator when comparing with main competitor's products.
This is a desktop replacement, probably the best you can buy, but it is certainly not a machine that you would want to lug around regularly - too big and heavy, although occasional trips would be ok.
Having moved from to this from a ThinkPad, the overall build quality & choice of materials is definitely not in the same league.
Keyboard (black) is a real fingerprint magnet.
The manufacturer's website lags behind reality, so can't register laptop online as they have not yet updated the product numbers to the new range.
Some accessories, such as keyboard skins that are available in the USA for this laptop are not yet, and may never be, available to the UK market.
The price of additional power-supplies is ridiculously high.
Contacting the manufacturer directly is impossible.
