Derek, Hemel Hempstead Record many TV programmes.

Score 5.0/10
Good points:
Reasonably compact.
Fairly intuitive controls and remote key layout.
Bad points:
Takes an unacceptably long time to respond from the time of switching it out of standby. This is VERY frustrating.
Occasionally freezes altogether on switch-on, necessitating the need to unplug the unit for a brief period, then wait even longer while it goes through the 'Recovery' process.
When the up/down keys are pressed just once, sometimes has a tendency to skip over more than one item. Very annoying.
Similarly, when returning to the 'recorded programmes' menu in order to delete the programme just watched, it often highlights an (unwatched) programme above or below the intended one. This makes it easy to inadvertently delete the wrong programme.

Peter, Exeter Only buy quality products

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Fairly easy to use, HD very good, quality product, Yes, I would certainly buy again
Bad points:
1..Sometimes after recording programs, shows that that the drive is still empty and you have to press the arrow key shown at bottom of TV menu (change drive key) to get it back which is a bit annoying.

2..Sometimes it doesn't record to the end of the program which is again very annoying, this might be a fault of TV timings though, but does not happen too often thankfully.

Score 2.0/10
Good points:
Compact and integrates reasonably well with Sony television
Bad points:
User interface is not intuitive, takes a while to work out all the features.
Takes a long time to respond to input when taken off standby (in the order of minutes not seconds)
Frequently hangs when using remote. Usually responds eventually but can often be 30 secs.
Occasionally locks up and requires the classic switch off and switch on at the mains.
