Arne, St Albans Multi-purpose viewer

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Size (screen and overall unit).
Built-in DVD player (so fewer leads and boxes in my bedroom!).
Range of input sources including built-in freeview tuner.
Physical design is sleek and of good build quality. Software / menus / buttons not quite so good (see bad points).
Auto set-up out of the box (intuitive and fast - just plug in aerial and off you go).
Price (this helps offset many of the bad points I have listed!)
Reasonable image quality (considering price and features).
Free table stand (optional if you wish to mount it on the wall or other bracket).
Bad points:
Buttons are in an awkard location if you don't have much room to the right of the screen, they would be much better on top, front or bottom of screen unit (perhaps some or all hidden behind a hinged panel)?
Swiching between sources is not the fastest (it would be better if can edit order / visiblity of the list of sources, or as a minimum have the last used source at the top so that you can switch between sources quickly, e.g. flicking between DVD and Digital tuner).
Quite noisy when turning on (it automatically checks if a DVD is present twice in the first 5 seconds), after that it is very quiet!
DVD starts playing by itself when a disc is inserted - this means the player forgets where you last were when you wish to actually resume! This MAY be corrected by a software upgrade (I haven't tried this yet to see if this is the case).
No wi-fi upgrade path (not a deal-breaker but this could be a surprise for some unsuspecting purchasers), for the money, you shouldn't really expect this!
