Good points:
I dont know what to say here, I just cannot set it up or work it, so you had better read my bad points.
Bad points:
This is just so complicated, I have had it 6 months now, and still cannot even get started without just luck that I may press the right button. It doesnt even seem to show on the screen the same as in the manual..Why dont Sony do a youtube of how to get started. I thought I had done it all correctly, but on coming home from my holiday, there was nothing on the card. a computer friend transfered the images which apparently were on the internal memory. When I bought it inJOHN LEWIS . I was told. just put the card into your computer and it will do it all automatically, Wrong, no it doesnt. (john lewis you should train your staff) My friend spent a hour trying to get them onto my computer. it only I could just open it up and have instructions on my screen as I did with my previous Sony handycam. It is just no use at all. My best advice is avoid it. I am going back to my older one with the small tapes. I could work that like a dream, so it is not as if I had never worked a camera before. Is there anyone who could help me with this camcorder. Please

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
All the features are good, especially the projector.
Bad points:
The viewing screen is far too small and in bright sunlight its almost impossible to see if you are on your subject, especially if you wear glasses for reading and not in a position to carry them round with you everywhere you go (like on the beach). I have another Sony camcorder with a 3.5 screen and so much easier to see and brighter too, only problem is its heavier and won't fit into a pocket like this one does.

Manufacturer's Description

Feature-packed Full HD shooting made simple

“Enjoy up to 5hours Full HD recording on 16GB internal memory and more on optional memory card. Light and easy to carry, it’s packed with smart, easy to use features for shooting, sharing and enjoying crisp HD video and still photos. "

Best Full HD pictures
Move up to the smoothest, most detailed video images you’ve ever seen from a camcorder. 1920×1080/50p mode records at a very high frame rate in progressive mode, capturing 50 Full HD frames every second for extra-clear results.

Walk. Zoom. Steady: Even more stable pictures
Wobbly pictures are a common problem when you’re shooting without a tripod. Optical SteadyShot Active Mode delivers ‘3-way’ camera shake correction at all zoom settings, even when you’re walking along.

Low light, no problem
Many camcorders struggle in low light, producing grainy, fuzzy images. Super sensitive Exmor R™ CMOS Sensor reduces image noise for clearer images. In conjunction with the powerful BIONZ processor you’ll get great results in dim interiors or at dusk.

Project your image anywhere
Sometimes you want everyone to see your video memories, but there’s no TV in the room to hook up with. Now Handycam® lets you project crisp, detailed video clips directly onto any nearby flat surface – from walls and ceilings to a friend’s t-shirt.

Sharing made simple
Don’t keep all those great memories stuck inside your camcorder. A built-in USB arm simplifies PC hook-ups without hunting for cables. PMB Portable software inside Handycam® launches automatically for quick, fuss-free web uploads.
