Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Excellent images, Very good optical zoom, stabiliser. wonderful wildlife images. Great functionality.
Bad points:
Poor low light performance, A little heavy to carry around all day in the heat of a safari. Still images are pretty poor, do not expect this function to replace a stills camera.
Functions require sometime to learn.

Good points:
Excellent 10 out of tem images. Excellent quality high optical zoom. Quiet zoom.
Bad points:
It is rather bulky. Playback buttons are difficult to reach. Could use bigger optical zoom. It does not have a smart and custom fit carry case. The square type viewing attachment makes the camera look even more bulkier.

Matthew, Washington, DC Professional videographer

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Excellent Picture Quality, Ease of Use, Quality Build and Lightweight
Bad points:
24p would be nice but 60i is not bad. Other persons reviewing this camera also marked it down for poor still picture performance and weight. This camera is extremely lightweight in comparison to say a shoulder mounted Sony DV CAM (the Sony DSR-450WSL) or a Panasonic AG-HVX200. This camera is a VIDEO CAMERA not a DSLR! If you want to take pictures while you are in the Safari as well bring a DSLR not just the HDR-FX7.
