It's Ok to film with, but after that it's a nightmare - how the hell do you download? The instruction book is useless.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Light weight, Easy to use. Great image and sound. Compatible with lots of software
Bad points:
Record button on inconvenient side when used with stabilizing handle right handed. Perhaps too light weight in some respects. This is can produce shaky footage when using a lens. ( Steady shot cannot be used with a 'fisheye' lens as it produces fuzzy shaky outline. )

Good high quality movies. Could do with a better download software.

Pixels are too low on the still camera side. Look grainy when seen on HD TV.

Camcorders Buying Guide

Manufacturer's Description

The ultra-compact Sony HDR-CX130 Handycam camcorder will capture stunning Full HD videos of those special moments. Featuring an Exmor R CMOS sensor for superior low-light performance, a wide angle Sony G lens and a 42x extended zoom for getting you closer to the action, the HDR-CX130 will tick all the boxes.
Main Features:

Record your memories in exceptional Full High Definition quality. Capable of 1080/60p recording and playback via an optional HDMI lead and compatible HD TV, it’ll provide stunning clarity and incredibly detailed playback of your memories. Wind Reduction will also reduce noise and interference which is produced when wind passes over the microphone, giving you a clearer and more enjoyable sound experience.

The high-speed, built-in USB 2.0 cable allows for easy connection to your computer for charging or file transfer without having to remember separate cables. It also fits conveniently into the hand strap so it’s out of the way until you need it. Perfect for uploading or charging on your travels.

The Golf Shot feature captures a few seconds of motion as a sequence of up to 22 still images which can be viewed/printed individually or as a composite “sequence shot” image. For the sporty amongst you this will be perfect for analysing the nuances of your golf swing, tennis serve or other fast action.

Intelligent Auto mode will analyse your shot and then automatically selecting the appropriate settings from ten distinct scene modes: Landscape, Backlight, Twilight, Spotlight, Low light, Macro, Portrait, Baby, Walk, Tripod.

Optical Steady Shot image stabilisation with Active Mode compensates for greater degrees of camera shake in order to deliver stunningly smooth video from wide angle to full telephoto shooting. In addition, innovative 3-Way Shake-Cancelling adds electronic roll stability for even smoother video capture.

A 42x extended zoom will allow you to get even closer to the action. It works in conjunction with 30x optical zoom to help you get closer to the action while maintaining HD image quality.

The 3.0 inch Clear Photo LCD Plus display provides exceptional viewing clarity with 230K pixels resolution. The display rotates up to 270 degrees for multiple viewing angles, as well as provides sharp, detailed images for monitoring or playback. The convenient touch panel allows easy access to menus and additional functionality such as spot focus and spot metering.
