Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Light and easy to use
Bad points:
Battery life could be better.
Should come with at least a 32Gb SD card, it comes with none.
Shame on you Sony.
The video light is next to useless, all it succeeds in doing is shorten the battery life.
You should be able to turn off digital zoom.

Good points:
As digital recordng of surprisingly versatile and elite prestige quality I have never experienced such a professional and verstaile camcorder. The zoom feature adds rather a relability impressive recording touch. It's definitely handy and only requires hours of practice to comprehend enough of the features to work quickly. Highly recommended for ease but also a piece of kit to learn and grow with - very, very, impressive.
Bad points:
No muting of sound/volume recording. Causing immense amounts of time-wasting. The microphone if it can be switched off reocrding sound, I would appreciate how this can be done - haven't been able to achieve this after a month of attempts.

Camcorders Buying Guide

Manufacturer's Description

Fun, easy shooting with high-power zoom

Fun, easy shooting with powerful 50x optical zoom. Handycam® lets you enjoy crisp SD video quality, with smart features for sharing and enjoying your footage.

Better images in low light

Shooting in low light can be a challenge for your camcorder: it often results in disappointing, grainy images spoiled by noise. Offering improved sensitivity compared with previous models, a new CCD sensor captures light more efficiently for cleaner, better-looking low-light images.

Natural looking faces every time

Faces can look dark and underexposed in bright, backlit situations like a sun-drenched beach. And if you’re shooting indoors there’s a risk your subject’s skin tone can look unnaturally coloured. The camcorder fine-tunes focus, exposure and skin tone for more natural looking faces.

Easy uploads with PMB

Don’t keep those moments to yourself: sharing your clips and digital photos online has never been simpler. Supplied with your camcorder, PMB software lets you browse, manage and select your favourite memories for quick, fuss-free uploads to popular sharing sites like YouTube™ Daily Motion and Facebook.

Get closer than you’ve ever been before

It’s like packing a telescope with your camcorder. This incredible 60x zoom range makes sure that distant subjects fill the frame. You’ve never seen such amazing, detail-packed close-ups.

Brighten up your subject

Don’t get left in the dark. A video light illuminates your subject for great results when you’re shooting in low light at parties, indoors or with night-time scenes.
