Good points:
Hard to think about any other lenses with this capacity except for the newest clone from Nikon the Nikkor 18-275mm. I use this lenses indoor and outdoor with my kids. Excellent results taking outdoor pictures including the expodisc for WB. I take it everywhere is a little bit heavier especially with the F58AM flash.
Bad points:
When you take pictures with this lenses at 250 mm you will have better results with a professional camera. You should spec a delay to focus with alphas 380 and under.

Chris, Lichfield

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Light and very easy to use. The main advantage for me is that with the 18-250mm zoom, I now only need to carry the camera with this one zoom lens fitted.
Bad points:
None found yet. Possible little niggle is lack of power zoom as found on the Minolta 28-105mm xi lens it replaced, but I don't seemed to have missed that so far.

John, Dronfield

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Very good lens, considering the price and can be used for most photographic situations that an amateur photographer is likely to come up against. Lens barrel is quite short, an advantage when carrying and the zoom is firm enough so that it doesn't creep.
Bad points:
No complaints really, the only thing I would have liked is a macro settig, having said that it will focus to within half a metre.
