Most helpful reviews

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
The camera has lots of creative features, it takes great photos with vivid colors which are very true to life, it's also great for portraits. I have used it on holiday for day to day snaps as well as for macro and more professional use, it is a great all rounder and very good value for money even for beginners.
Bad points:
Sometimes the camera takes slightly blurry images if you use the wrong mode, I find the auto plus mode is easiest to use as it adjusts for you.

Bring the world closer with a slim super zoom

Sitting in the airport departure lounge you can’t help but smile. You’re with two of your oldest friends, about to visit New York City, and they’re having the same old debate.

In the red corner there’s Paul, laden with camera bags, extolling the virtues of DSLR and interchangeable zoom lenses. In the blue corner there’s Mike, brandishing his top–of–the–range smartphone. 8MP, image stabilisation and picture effects. What more do you need?

You consider arguing the case for your slim, pocket–sized WX300 – but life’s too short. Let the results speak for themselves.

Sure enough, in the Big Apple the WX300 comes into its own. Spur–of–the–moment shots? You capture them before Paul has even undone his camera bag. Distant subjects? Your 20x optical zoom and 18.2MP sensor pull everything close with immaculate detail that leaves Mike impressed. And with 500 shots on one charge, you’re still shooting while your friends are searching for power sockets.

World’s smallest with 20x optical zoom

Shooting from a distance? No sweat – just pull yourself closer. You’re always ready with a powerful zoom camera that’s small enough to fit in your pocket. With a G Lens from Sony and 20x optical zoom, capture dramatic close–ups that are sharp and clear.

If you’re walking, zoomed in, or holding the camera high up for a better view, Optical SteadyShot cuts the effect of shaky hands for crisp, blur–free stills. And thanks to Active Mode, your handheld movies look smooth and steady too.

Capture rich detail, even in low–light

From bustling street markets to fun nights out, shoot photos packed with detail and rich, vibrant colours. The sensitive 18.2MP Exmor R CMOS sensor cuts out picture noise for clear, sharp results, even at dusk or indoors when the lights are dim. Full HD videos look smooth and cinematic too so you can show off all those movie memories on your Full HD television.

Stylish, lightweight design

It’s a big wide world, so get out there and seize the moment. This slim, lightweight camera won’t hold you back, whatever you’re doing. Just slip the stylish, compact design into your bag and off you go – you’ll barely notice it’s there. From fun–packed trips to memorable nights out and days with friends, the best camera is the one that’s always with you.

Keep shooting for longer

Rely on a long battery life to keep you going throughout the day. With up to 500 shots on a single charge, you can keep on snapping when you’re out and about. Some things you just don’t see every day, whether it’s sweeping landscapes, ancient landmarks or even your child’s first steps, so make sure you’ve got the shooting stamina for that all–important shot.

Share the fun with built–in Wi–Fi

Don’t keep those memories to yourself – get connected wirelessly and share the moment with everyone. On–board Wi–Fi lets you send photos and videos right to your smartphone or tablet for easy viewing and sharing, with no cables needed. View still images stored in your camera wirelessly on a networked TV – it’s a great way to re–live the memories when you’re back from a trip away.

Back–up photos and videos straight from your camera to a PC using PlayMemories. You can even use your smartphone as a handy wireless remote to control the camera – great for self–portraits and group shots when you want to be in on the action.
