It does not do what it claims to. This should be a warning to anybody who knows anything about High Definition video. If you have any knowledge or standards at all, do NOT buy this product. Do NOT waste your money. I founded a TV and video production company that produces exclusively in HD, so I know my way around High Def. My wife bought me the digital photo frame as a Christmas present, hoping we could use it to play HD footage of our young daughter. The footage will not play, despite conforming to the manufacturer's specifications. I spent a huge amount of time experimenting with variations on the basic specs, and discovered that while it was possible to play some short pieces of video that were ALMOST full HD, longer 'true' HD clips would NOT play (and the company's blurb claims far more than can really be achieved). I reported this to the manufacturers; they didn't want to know. The shop (bearing the manufacturer's name) also didn't want to know - 'Prove it', they said, but after I did just that, they did not follow through: They just took back the unit and sent it off to the manufacturers; supposedly to check out why my original HD video wouldn't play. However, all the manufacturers did was play one of their own pieces of video on it (it did), claimed this proved there was nothing wrong with the photoframe and then even tried to charge me for the cost of their test. It's no surprise they found a piece of video that could play; I had already done that: the issue is that their published specifications are wrong; the best possible HD that can be achieved WITHIN the published specs will NOT play. I was particularly amazed when the manufacturers asked what camera had been used to shoot the video: I told them the model - the top of their range - and they'd never heard of it! In conclusion, the specifications are utterly misleading; after-sales are a joke - none of their representatives knows what they're talking about, and the manufacturers will be storing up some big problems for themselves because they simply will not accept that there could possibly be anything wrong with one of their products. I will never buy anything that bears their name again. If one product is not 'fit for purpose' then how can I ever trust anything else?
