Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Light, quite easy to use once the menus and settings are understood. Picture quality, I cannot say as I have had a great deal of difficulty in trying to edit the footage and get it on to a DVD.
Bad points:
No viewfinder. I really miss this especialyy when the sun is behind you, which is where you like it to be on most ocassions. Software is complicated and not a deal of use to me. I prefer a video editing suite so have had to purchase Vegas Movie Studio Hd Platinum. This is not easy to use and much hair has been torn out over the past three weeks.

Still images are poor and movie images are not much better. I was hoping just to carry this camera when out and about but I still have to carry my old still digital camera to get acceptable results

Geoff, Northampton Just point and shoot

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Ease of set up and use. Simple. clear instructions help, of course. The camera is light and easy to hold and all the main functions ate at your finger tips. A very handy cam indeed. My first use of the camera was at the Olympic Games athletics. For my first attempt the pictures weren't at all bad - which only goes to prove how easy the Handycam is to use.
Bad points:
None that I have found as yet. The only difficulty I have had with the camera thus far is with the idiot behind it! There is, of course, always the problem that while one is concentrating on filming, one isn't really concentrating properly on whatever is happening - but that is hardly the camera's fault!

Sally, London Keen amateur

Score 2.0/10
Good points:
it's light and easy to use to take pictures or film
Bad points:
to edit and delete images or film, the tools are tricky and the touch screen is only for the tiniest of fingers.
The image quality of the photographs is disasterous - the film quality is as expected - not great but fine but photographs are not very clear or sharp and it's hardly worth using it as a camera.

If I had a choice between a small camera with recording facility or a camcorder which took pictures I would always choose the camera against this item.
I would NOT buy it again or buy anything similar and in fact I rarely use it - waste of money I think
