Esther, London Keen amateur

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
screen & viewfinder; lots of settings; options for auto or manual adjustment in most of the settings; sports setting very useful with ever moving kids;
Bad points:
the lens doesn't tilt like my previous cybeshot did wich restricts some of the angles you can take a photo in. I can never find the zoom by feel alone, I always have to look to find the botton which has made me loose some good shots.

Good points:
The camera is easy to find your way around even for a complete novice like myself.
I am building up to using more and more of the features available on the camera but you can also use it's auto function while you get used to it.
Bad points:
Nothing really. But as with everything now, the instructions are not really easy for the novice to understand.

Danny, London

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Rechargeable batteries, charger, lens hood & filter adapter included in price.
Better, more powerful flash than the competition.
Uses AA batteries, & only 2 required.
In-built 30MB memory is more useful than a small memory card.
Well made, e.g. metal tripod adaptor thread.
Good 400 ASA quality (but 1000 ASA is just a marketing gimmick and too poor to use).
Bad points:
Memory stick Duo much less convenient than SD card. Big disadvantage.
No hotshoe. I really miss not having an easy option to fit a bounce and tilt flashgun. The double-fire flash that digital cameras now have mean that I'll need to buy a new flashgun to fit to my slave.
Having only 2 batteries does mean a longer flash recycle time.
In common with most 12x zoom cameras, the zoom range starts too high. A 28-300mm range would be much more useful than 36-432mm. I shall have to buy a wide angle adaptor, which can't be used with the pop-up flash because it casts a shadow, and which means the bag I bought for the camera is now too small.
Autofocus doesn't work in low light, not even with the red focus-assist light.
No ISO button, which would be very convenient.
No manual zoom ring; one would be much better than the buttons.
The sound recording only works when taking video clips; you can't make voice notes.
