Good points:
GPS feature more useful than you would think, allowing you to link images to Google maps. Combine this with the panoramic feature & you have an ideal reconnaissance tool.
Bad points:
Not much: Panoramic mode will not allow zoom. Some compacts have slightly higher resolution.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
I bought this camera because I was tired of carrying a big SLR around.
I have owned 3 digital camera's the first two a bit of a disapointment due to shutter and focus lag. The SLR a Nikon D 50 has been excellent but as I say the size and weight is a disadvantage.
I have compared the two over the last few days and find the Sony very, very close to the SLR in focus and speed and the picture quality is also close to the Nikon. The camera is easy to use and as a point and shoot absolutely first class.
The main thing is drop it in your pocket and take shots where and when you like. The HD video is excellent and with the bonus of being able to zoom whilst doing so. I considered the Panasonic TZ 10 and the Canon 210-1 both good camera's but they both have little foibles I find a pain, the Panasonic has to be switched on the back from one mode to another and the Canon has a rather silly zoom control
As a photographer with experience since the 60s I must say I am impressed. I have read several magazines and revues on camera's and most are super critical to the point of expecting a Hazelblad for the price of a pinhole camera if you dont want to blow up to the size of a building this camera is great.
Bad points:
The burst button is close to the on/off button.
The panoramic shots take a little getting used to.
No HDMi cable included only an adaptor
