Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Excellent for action shots.
Software can be updated to add new features.
Bad points:
The eye cup pops off - nearly lost it a few times.
The camera could do with a retaining strap on the lens cover so it can be removed and left to dangle or clipped somewhere on the camera or strap to avoid loss of lens cover.
The camera strap is not long enough and far too thin.

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Easy to handle. Excellent image quality and screen. Shutter speed superb. I need to photo animals and they react to sound of the shutter so the second and thrid shots really work.
Wouldn't have any hesistation in recommending it.
Bad points:
No real bad points -If one hand to pick maybe the twisting screen my be a bit vunerable.
The Imaging software does tend to take over but once you get used to it -it's fine.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
* Very easy to use for a beginner.
The camera has all the advanced features that you will need to enter the world of digital photography, without the complexity and intimidating aspect of some advanced cameras that have a gazillion dials, buttons and displays on the body.
Sony has done a really good job on the usability here.
* EVF
The Electronic View Finder on this model is real winner. Once you've used it, you never go back to optical VF
* Burst mode
At 10 fps this is a blessing for a camera at this price range. I got to test it on various fast moving subjects and got really good crisp pictures of frozen actions
* Body size and weight
The small body size of the camera is perfect for me (this might not be the case for people with large hands though) and makes the camera easy to carry around. I really don't feel its weight in my camera bag.
* Movie mode
The continuous AF in video mode is another great feature on a camera in the entry level category
* Advanced features:
HDR, Dynamic Range Optimizer ang the embedded GPS were all very well implemented by Sony
* Scenes:
This is another treat that allowed me to quickly take some interesting picture without fiddling with the advanced options in the Camera and without post-processing
* Panorama mode:
This feature is extremely easy to use and gives good results even without a tripod

All in all, I would strongly recommend it to anyone stepping up from a point and shoot or just learning DP.
Bad points:
* Tilting LCD
The LCD scread can only move downward. This is a problem when using a tripod
* Poor microphone
The built-in microphone is not the best in town
* Battery life
I first experienced a poor battery life in the first few days, but disabling GPS and reducing the flash and the use of the LCD screen can buy you more than a full day of shooting (i.e. a few hundreds shots)

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Very good quality pictures, not too heavy. Allows me to use lenses from an elderly Minolta 7000.
Bad points:
Difficult to find a way of setting up synchronous flash/shoot. The programmes available have preflash analysis and often the moment has passed (especially when taking pictures of children and animals), before the flash is ready to synchronise with the moment of shooting. Battery life is quite short. On/off switch is counter-intuitive. It is a complicated camera and every time I use it I am learning to make more and more use of its capabilities, may take me a year or so to be fully competent!
