Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Fantastic quality photos, good solid build quality, very compact and portable, better than any micro 4/3 cameras in comparable price bracket
Bad points:
Complicated menu, more external programmable buttons would help ease of use, expensive Sony lenses and not enough choice.
Lack of viewfinder

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Image quality, many features, panorama mode
Bad points:
Rather confusing menu system eg you choose panorama mode from the shoot mode menu, but then to change the panorama direction, you then have to go to image size - not very logical or intutitive. Full manual only on CD - should be a printed manual for cameras in this price bracket. Not a huge range of lenses available at the moment.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Not too difficult to use the different features it offers yet picture quality of a professional camera!
Bad points:
I ordered this camera with the package deal - camera, memory card and case. However the case is too small for the camera! I don't understand why Curry's would put this package together if the case is not the right size for the camera???! When I went into a Curry's store they said they couldn't help and that I'd have to phone the online number then post the case back to them. With a newborn to look after I find this very inconvenient especially as it was their fault.

Mohsin, leicester Keen amateur

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Having always used digital cameras I have been inexperienced with the higher end compact system and DSLR cameras. Hence why I was sceptical towards complex features and terminologies commonly associated with high end cameras; nonetheless I decided to purchase the NEX 5N for its compact size and I wanted a camera capable of taking quality images without braking the bank. Considering I have never used a high end camera, the NEX is surprisingly user friendly. Within two days of playing with the camera I felt confident in using all the features, this is due to a feature which displays information when you scroll over a setting so you know exactly what that setting will achieve. Overall, in the £400 range this camera earns 10/10 for build quality, looks, picture quality, size and user friendliness. If you desire a better camera than the NEX 5N expect to pay above the £400 mark.
Bad points:
