Good points:
The lens produces excellent images. It's handy being able to you a low f number throughout the zoom range, which which allows for portraits with a shallow depth of field. The build quality is excellent, and I haven't had any problems with my lens. Definitely excellent value for money.
Bad points:
The lens uses a clutch to switch between AF and MF, rather than just overriding when you turn the focus ring.

If you are using the cameras built-in flash with the lens at full wide you get a shadow on the bottom of the photo, due to the lens being so big it blocks some of the flash. This isn't a problem after about 30mm.

The lenses size reduces the effectiveness of the cameras AF assist light, since it blocks a lot of the light.

I would prefer a larger zoom ring, instead of such a large focus ring.

Good points:
Good value for money, quarter the price of the Nikor.
Bad points:
Large filter size (82mm) means that you are paying quite lot for a filter to fit it. If using the SLR's onboard flash it tends to obstruct the flash and cause shadows in the image.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
A really good zoom range which enables me to shoot everything from large groups to candid close ups without changing lenses, plus the all important 2.8 aperture enabling me to work indoors with available light.
Bad points:
The Lens hood (in common with most other manufacturers efforts) is of only limited use.
