Score 9.0/10
Good points:
It's a very device to work. Setting up was very easy. Looks good with any other devices e.g. dvd, tv. Allows you to record two programmes at once.
Bad points:
It does occasionally switch off recording a minute or so before a programme finishes. In other words if a programme has overrun (as Graham Norton does on a Monday night) it seems to always cut the end off of it. Also there have been some programming changes since the world cup and it hasn't changed the series link for these programmes.

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Easy to install and setup. recording and playback is easy.
Bad points:
The installation instructions could be better. For instance it shows how to connect to a VCR but not how to record to VCR on one digital tuner and watch a programme on the other if it is, indeed, possible. I tried and everytime I switched tuners the VCR recording also switched.

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Starting with installation, you can get the machine attached to the TV setup and up and running from the factory settings within five minutes with only a cursory glance at the installation instructions. It is quite a user friendly machine, with relatively intuitive functionality - the most basic operations can be performed immediately after installation without even referring to the manual. The facility to record one channel and watch another simultaneously is a major plus for buying the machine, especially for the price in comparison to other brands. Picture quality is perfectly acceptable, but this is not being viewed on a HD screen btw, so can't say for sure. Much better than VCR anyway. Has easy access to the library of recorded programmes and there is a 14 day programme guide from which you can set up recording, either a single programme or an entire series. There is a very good seek facility for recorded programmes - up to 64x play speed - and also the speed of playback can be adjusted, paused and so on.
Bad points:
There is a major issue with the recording of some channels at certain times, in which the video stream is corrupted, skipping frames until it comes to a spluttering stop, while the audio stream seems to continue on without it. This has been particularly evident on "More4" (channel 14), and oddly the machine even switches to a duplicate "More4" channel (channel 826) in the list to perform the recording. But it is entirely sporadic and cannot be predicted which programmes will be affected. BBC3 and Channel 5 are also affected ocassionally. This may be something to do with signal problems, but it is impossible to say for sure. So if you don't mind losing the odd programme now and again, it is possible to endure it. Another issue is the attempt to force feed you Top Up TV programmes, to the point of actually installing a showcase channel on the programme guide, and sending you messages now and again about subscribing to Top Up TV. And finally, the remote control is diabolically unresponsive. There is a massive delay between pressing a button and the machine deciding whether to perform the operation or not, and then it finally gets around to doing it, and does it thrice over - just like waiting for the bus.
