G, St Austell Multi-purpose viewer

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Low power consumption. Out of the box and running in minutes. Useful functions - it doubles up for a computer monitor. Sound not bad for tiddly speakers. I'm spoilt by the substantial CRT it replaces but which took up too much room. The default picture is a bit gaudy but there are plenty of adjustments to fiddle with to suit personal taste. Good picture response on, for example, bike racing. My previous experience of flat screens was of pixelation and "trailing" images. Not tried HD yet.
Bad points:
EPG difficult to read, the contrast when highlighted is especially poor. I have to get up close to read the small text (I'm long sighted and wear glasses). I'm still learning the remote which is a little too sensitive, it's easy to end up with a row of the same digit, infuriating when channel-hopping. Why the irritating illuminated chevron to tell me it's on? Cured that with a bit of tape.
