Good points:
I have NOW bought 2 of these drives, both excellent!

The first to store RAW photos and all my emails and docs from the last 20 years or so, merging from 3 separate drives. I bought the second drive to back up the first in case of data loss. Both drives instantly recognise in Windows 10 x64 as full 8TB if you select GPT partition, not MBR as MBR limits to 2TB! Make sure you have boot to UEFI or UEFI switched on in BIOS, though most modern PCs will already have this turned on by default anyway. Mine did and it's three years old!

Transfer rates between drives is about 150MBPS that's Megabytes not megabits, but depending on file type being transferred it can be as high as 250MBPS so yes that's fast.

Its not meant as a boot drive, the clue is in the name - archive! But is hands all media like home video even family vids over an hour at 4k and streams them effortlessly to my home TV without a hiccup, whilst running backup in the background.

I have formatted to 64k per sector rather than the standard 4k. This will lose me the ability to compress files in Windows, but at 8TB I have the headroom, and at 64k, it will significantly reduce the I/O overhead, and should mean the drive lasts as good as forever!

None! Brilliant!

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Nice as a storage hard drive, obviously not as fast as an SSD, but not a bad speed, transfer speed is quite good
Bad points:
Not the fault of the disk, however, Windows dislikes disks over 2TB without quite a bit of configuring (if you want to boot from it like I did) would recommend not using this as your main boot drive but as a large storage drive

Good points:
Huge capacity and performance seems good.
Bad points:
Too noisy, and randomly chirps under Windows. My ultra silent custom PC build has been somewhat spoiled by the noise, but I need the capacity.

I've only had the drives in for a couple of days. I put one in each of my storage arrays to expand capacity and they've done exactly what I needed.
