Some customer reviews of SAPPHIRE ATI Radeon HD 5450 PCI-E Graphics Card - 1GB

Most helpful reviews

Gary,

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Used in a Dell Inspiron 560S as the onboard graphics had started to flicker. Installation was simple once the bracket had been swapped with the included low profile brackets. There was no need to use the installation CD as the Windows 7 64 bit system downloaded the drivers automatically. After the driver installation and a system restart the card was working perfectly.
Bad points:
Driver installation hung on a "Pending" message but investigation of the driver in Device Manager showed that a system restart was required.

Ian,

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Good Video play back
Doesn't use system memory
1Gb fast ddr3 memory
HDMI and DVI support
Direct X 11 support
Bad points:
Reduces the windows 7 experience down to 4.6 instead of 5.2
However this for Windows Aero graphics, Gaming graphics Jumps up to 6.1,so I think we can overlook the 4.6, Windows still looks the same to me!
Ati Direct X 11 Demos ( Mech runs Well, but Ladybug is a bit stuttery. But then this an entry level card and does not cost several hundred pounds!

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Works fine with windows 8.1 and is quick enough for me as I am not a gamer in the real sense the most I play is solitaire card games. I do work with photos a lot and must admit the screen is much sharper than before and colours are true and brighter. I am happy with the card so far and good value for money.
Bad points:
Have a narrow profile Dell so had to use two PCI slots using the provided short back plates. Not a problem for me losing a PCI slot as I am not going to use it for anything but may be a problem to others.
