Good points:
Fit this SSD, add as much RAM as effectively possible and you will be amazed how this boosts the overall performance of an older machine without buying a new PC. Eventually, when you have to buy a new PC due to the constrains of the motherboard and processor, just take this SSD with you to the next machine!

Mark, Ipswich DIY laptop home Installation

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Bought to replace faulty standard hard drive. Wanted reliability which this ssd should offer. Now fitted. Runs noticeably quicker than standard hard drive, without any noise and the laptop runs much cooler - fan comes on much less than previously.
Bad points:
No bad experience with this product. A lot more expensive than a replacement standard hard drive but having had problems with the previous standard hard drive this ssd is worth the extra cost to me for the reliability / greatly reduced risk of losing all my data. Quicker performance a bonus. No regrets - would recommend.

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Very fast, SSD makes a huge difference, WEI is 7.8 on Windows 7. Makes booting up, turning on from hibernation when a lot is open, opening programs, system operations, etc much quicker when your hard drive has a lot of programs installed. Was good value compared to other products of similar spec. 240GB is just about enough for a standard laptop hard drive. Can't comment on reliability, no problems so far but only had it a month, but 2 year warranty a plus.
Bad points:
Getting it installed was a real pain. Tried to clone my existing hard drive. It was recognised in BIOS and by the Sandisk update program (the update is not particularly easily done either but at least instructions are given), but windows 7 wouldn't recognise it as an external drive, tried on several computers, different external caddy devices etc and no luck.
If you get the same problem, try going to Start menu, right click on Computer, Manage, Disk Management, to see whether it's recognised. I think I clicked 'Mark Partition as Active' to make it work.
SanDisk have not much of use on their website to solve such problems.
Having said that, no problems since, just a very fast laptop.

Robert, Derby Retired

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Extremely simple to install , ( with the help of a Crucial wizard ). Boot up and shut down times are slashed from minutes to mere seconds, I never want another HDD, the way forward is definitely SSD
Bad points:
Currently too expensive, I could have bought a desktop motherboard bundle for the same money. The cost needs to tumble by at least 50%
