Good points:
I have had this product for about 4 weeks now and I think I can now give it a balanced review. I initially purchased it for video editing and gaming along with the usual web surfing and occasional Microsoft Office usage. I can say without a doubt I made a great buy.For the gamers, and to give some perspective on this laptops processing power I have been playing the following games. Starcraft 2 and Fallout New Vegas, both play very well with no lag or jitter, I have been playing Fallout on 'high' graphics settings and Starcraft 2 on 'ultra'. I have also edited and created afew DVD's as well now with no issues. Windows 7 which is new to me on this laptop seems a great OS very quick and stable so far. The laptop has great connectivity, just about every port you can think of and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The build quality is excellent the keyboard is nice a positive with crisp feel to the keys the touch pad is responsive and has four led's at each corner I suppose you can see where it is as otherwise the touchpad blends into the body of the machine, and they look good. The display is a good size and definition is excellent.
Bad points:
Only a couple of negative points which seem slightly minor, but in the intrest of fairness I should point them out. The case although looking very good is glossy and loves fingerprints, and the screen seems to have a plasticesed coating, Im assuming to prevent damage, It does not detract from the viewing experience apart from picking up glare and reflections in certain lighting conditions.

Good points:
Very good performer, I use it for Photoshop CS5 and QuarkXPress 8 normally at work, and it excels at both. It is able to handle any HD video with ease. Games is where it really shines, there's nothing I've thrown at it that it can't play well. Battlefield Bad Company 2, with Medium/High graphics (no HBAO or AA), at about 40fps avg at the native 1366x768 resolution, Darksiders runs at 60fps solid (vsync enabled). Left 4 Dead 2 is 60fps avg at max graphics, 4xaa. Dead Rising 2 on medium graphics works fine at about 30fps and Mass Effect 2 soldiers on at max graphics at about 40fps avg. The screen is very bright, and once configured properly displays colours nicely. Films are a joy to watch on it. The speakers have a decent level of volume to them and aren't too tinny. Don't expect to fill a room with music though. The keyboard is great, nice and easy to type on, the keys have a nice amount of movement in them and I've barely made any mistakes when typing. The trackpad is nice, nicely positioned and has a fine texture on it which means it's nice and easy to brush your fingers across. In the corners of the trackpad are 4 blue LEDs which glow when you're using it, so it's easy to stay within the boundaries. Multi-touch gestures work great as well. The battery is removable, and performs ok, about 2 and a half hours on mid brightness with wifi and bluetooth on. HDD and RAM are accessible behind removable panels on the underside of the laptop. The DVD drive is quiet and works fine. The laptop is nigh-on silent when cool. Temperatures are pretty decent, under full load after an hour or so of Bad Company 2 online the processor reached 73 Degrees C and the nVidia GT330M graphics chip got to about 75 C, which are well within their maximum limits. The laptop itself feels fairly cool where the user usually has their hands, only the underside and the top left corner have any real heat to them. Also it doesn't look anywhere near as blue as it does in pictures. When I first got it out of the box it looks black, it's only under bright light and at angles does the blue show up, it's really understated but in a good way. It looks classy and all my colleagues have said how nice it looks. It doesn't weigh much either, it's not too bulky to carry around.
Bad points:
FINGERPRINT MAGNET! The worst complaint I have is that the entire thing other than the underside of the laptop is glossy, which means fingerprints are everywhere. Also, while this is my fault, it still annoys me, the lid has many small scratches now, from where I get the laptop out of it's carry pouch (purchased separately), so the plastic on the lid is very very susceptible to scratching, so watch out! The fan intake is in the top left hand corner, and the exhaust is in the back-left corner, which is not a problem in itself, but it's far away from any removable panels, so I am currently unsure how easy it will be to dust it when the time comes for some cleaning. I expect that removing the entire bottom half of the laptop will void the warranty, so dusting might well prove tricky. When I first received the laptop, it of course had Windows 7 Home Premium x64 installed, which wasn't too full of bloatware, but it was hideously slow, performance was pretty abysmal and initially I was disappointed with my purchase. But I knew to expect that so the first thing I did was reinstall Windows 7 Professional x64 (from the MSDNAA), and now it absolutely flies, so if you have the know-how, I would highly recommend reinstalling Windows from scratch as soon as you get it. All the drivers and software you need are available from the Samsung website so I didn't miss out on any functionality by doing this, other than a rubbish free trial of the rubbish McAfee Security Suite.

Good points:
Previous good experience of Samsung products led me to choose this product and I was not disappointed. The design, weight and performance are all excellent and the battery life good considering the I5 processor. The keyboard is very good and overall the laptop fulfils my requirement as a desktop replacement.
Bad points:
The Windows 7 Operating System is very resource hungry and unfortunately consumes many of the advantages of the powerful processor and RAM. I would recommend a dual boot system using Ubuntu which uses fewer system resources and maximises the potential of the system.
