Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Pioneer really do make the best. It was easy to set up and works perfectly. The 250 GB hard drive will certainly take a long time to fill up. The high speed copy function (for copying from HDD to DVD) is a great improvement over my previous Liteon DVD recorder. It copies recordings in a quarter of the time. I also like the way recordings can be assigned a genre and later it is then easier to find them when you view the contents of the HDD by genre, a great way to set the timer and record an entire series. It has many more interesting features which I am only beginning to learn. It provides easy use of basic functions and has detailed functions for those who want them.
Bad points:
The remote control is a little clunky and probably has too many buttons. It lacks the ergonomic design of Sony remotes.

If you use pay TV, you can plug your smart card directly into the recorder’s CI slot, so there’s no need for additional set-top boxes or equipment.

And if you’re watching TV, time becomes less of a challenge, too. You can pause live TV, which offers you the flexibility of pausing the programme you’re watching and record it in real time. Just continue watching afterwards, from the exact same point at which you stopped.

GUIDE Plus+ Electronic Programme GuideConvenience is always at your fingertips. The DVR-LX61D features a scaling option up to 1080p via HDMI, ensuring the highest viewing resolution.

And above all, the system is easy to control; one straightforward remote gives you quick and easy access to all the functions and content. The remote’s Home Media Gallery 3keys function gives you rapid, one-touch access to the DivX films, photos and music you’ve saved on the recorder.

Thanks to the KURO LINK feature you can operate the device’s main functions using the remote of your KURO plasma TV.

This recorder is also available with an analogue TV tuner.
