Score 10.0/10
Good points:
I like the fact that I don't need a 40" TV stuck on my lounge wall. I can take out the screeneo and watch the big film or the world cup rugby match and feel like I am part of the action.
The screeneo was very easy to set up. I purchased a Google chromecast and connected that as well. I can now watch netflix and youtube etc sent from my android phone to the screeneo.
Because of its portability I will be able to take the screeneo with me when I give talks or lectures and be able to set up in minutes. I will now there will always be space because of the very short projection distance required.
The sub woofer sound is very good.
The screeneo does not get hot because of the led lamp.
Watched a DVD via HDMI and it was very good. Easy to set up and use.
Likewise Bluetooth.
The WiFi works very well and I also have it hard-wired via an ethernet cable with superfast broadband. There is never any buffering.
All in all I am delighted with my purchase and would recommend it highly.
Bad points:
I wish I could have seen the screeneo in store before I purchased, because I would have purchased it a lot earlier. I only had reviews such as this to go on and it isn't quite the same as seeing it in practice. A friend came round to my house and watched it and on the strength of that viewing went away and purchased one.
The image is not Full HD, and we know that ! On the whole the image is good. My only criticism is that the focusing ring at the front is not obvious this is what you need to adjust if the image towards the top of the horizontal is slightly blurred e.g. the football scores
The TV listing doesn't let you scroll through the list, instead it displays each programme as you scroll, not ideal but bearable.
I haven't tried using any apps but now that we have chromecast, apps on the screeneo itself are really not necessary.

Manufacturer's Description

Designed specifically for home use, the Philips Screeneo PHD 1590TV HD 3D Projector brings the cinema to your living room.

Big on home entertainment
Whatever draws you to the sofa, you can experience your favourite media in bright, vivid high definition thanks to 1280 × 800 resolution and 3D support that makes the most of films, games, sports and even mobile phone media.

With possible screen sizes ranging from 50” to a colossal 100”, there’s a setting for every preference and event. This makes the Screeneo perfect for any occasion, from catching up on the soaps to getting friends and family round for a 3D film night.

The Screeneo features a built-in DVB-T tuner for free-to-air TV, making it a real alternative to a large-screen TV for everyday home use.

Compact convenience
You don’t need a huge space to enjoy a home-cinema, in fact the space required is less than you’d need for an equivalently sized TV thanks to the Ultra Short Throw projection distance. This gives you the option to position the projector in front of your preferred surface, with no roof mounting required at all.

Unlike most projectors, the Screeneo features integrated 26 watt speakers and a built-in subwoofer for impressive sound straight from the box, meaning no additional peripherals or connections are required.

Long term luminescence
The Screeneo moves away from traditional lamp lit projection and features LED lighting unit, which is good for up to 30,000 hours of continual use while maintaining a reliable, bright picture.

Wireless connectivity
Whether you’re connecting a computer, tablet, smartphone or any other wireless device, there’s the choice of WiFi, DNLA, Bluetooth and Miracast for a hassle-free wireless connection.

Games consoles, Sky boxes and other wired devices connect via HDMI, VGA, component or USB inputs so whatever you’re media source, you can expect fast, stable connectivity.

Enjoy a cinema experience in your home every day with the Philips Screeneo PHD 1590TV HD 3D Projector.
