Good points:
Image quality is pretty good on bluray
Bad points:
Image quality is abyssmal for standard viewing, but to be fair a screen of this magnitude <50inches> is probably poor for any manufaturer ,but what is particularly dissapointing is the epg which is inundated with commercials which eats in to the amount of programminng on display for freeview There is no easy way on the remote to switch between tv and radio it has to be done via the epg.Sound quality is also dissapointing.

Good points:
Ticks every box function wise.
Bad points:
Broke after a minth. I have purchased 4 Panasonic products over the yeats (2 TV-'s and 2 sorround sound DVD systems). Three of the them failed in less than a year.

Twin tuners pointless as you have to watch the same station you record i.e you cannot change channel whilst recording.

Brilliant picture and easy-to-use remote control but needs a surround sound system to get the very best all-round viewing experience. That's the next spend!

Manufacturer's Description

Full-HD NeoPDP Plasma TV with Freeview HD & Freesat HD built-in, 600Hz Sub-field Drive Intelligent Frame Creation Pro, Infinite Black and THX Mode

The G20 Series includes a DVB-S tuner for Freesat HD and a DVB-T2 tuner for Freeview HD providing you with a convenient, subscription free way of watching HD contents like sport, as well as your favourite soaps, dramas and documentaries in full HD glory wherever you are in the UK.

600Hz Sub-field Drive technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images with 1,080 lines of resolution. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into data. And each frame is practically displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects.

A contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 enables VIERA to display extremely robust blacks. A new filter, improvements to the cell discharge area, and enhanced cell performance have greatly increased luminous efficiency to produce crisp blacks. And minimising the electrical pre-discharge helps to both raise contrast and save energy.

THX reproduces film images exactly as the film’s creators intended them. The overall aim was to improve the experience of cinema-goers and faithfully recreate the audio and visual ambience that filmmakers intended. To receive THX certification, TVs undergo stringent tests to determine, for example, whether the exact same brightness and colour are displayed at all screen locations, and whether black levels satisfy standard criteria. VIERA meets the high standards set by the THX Certified Display Program.

Enjoy Internet content right on your TV. With VIERA CAST you can enjoy online videos, photos, and more. You can also check sports, news, weather and stock information with an easy-to-use Web interface that’s built into the TV. What’s more, VIERA CAST’s assorted online content has new additions, including the remarkably popular SkypeTM and Twitter® applications. VIERA CAST not only offers unique web entertainment but also expands your forms of communication.

It’s easy to view full-HD images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. An easy-to-see, easy-to-use thumbnail display has also been added. You can also enjoy special background music, slideshow frames and transition effects.
