Julie, Isle of Wight Multi-purpose viewer

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Bought as a 2nd television (the main one being a Sony which is approx 13 years old). Since viewing this TV nobody wants to watch the old one. Superb picture quality; even DVD's played through an extremely poor qualtiy recorder are brilliant. It was easy to instal and we can receive a good selection of free satellite programmes, some of which are in HD. We were considering replacing the Sony television when it finally broke down with another Sony. However, we are now considering buying another Panasonic before the increase in VAT. Would highly recommend.

Manufacturer's Description

Full-HD Models with freesat built-in Superb Moving Picture Quality, Wide Viewing Angle and Advanced Networking Capabilities

“freesat" is a digital satellite service that offers free HD (High-definition) TV programmes. With the G10 series, you can enjoy sharp pictures, vivid colours, multi-channel sound, and various services with the interactive contents.

Even fast-moving scenes are displayed sharply and clearly. With a 50-Hz video signal input, 100-Hz Intelligent Frame Creation makes 100 frames/sec from 50 frames/sec. This increases the frame count to allow natural frame-to-frame transitions, for smooth motion images with high resolution. VIERA also uses motion focus technology that greatly enhances resolution.

The wide 178° viewing angle* ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight’s wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response. * Measured at an angle where the contrast ratio is 10:1 or higher.

Enjoy realistic starlit skies right in your living room. Improvements in panel contrast and scene-adaptive contrast gamma correction have achieved a high contrast ratio of 20,000:1. The backlight tuning area is also expanded to achieve deeper blacks. *When using Dynamic mode

VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable. VIERA Link performance has been further enhanced with LUMIX digital camera connection. By connecting a new LUMIX camera that has an HDMI output terminal to VIERA, you can use the VIERA remote to control the playback of images stored on the camera.

It’s easy to view full-HD images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects.
