Peter, Multi-purpose viewer

Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Excellent picture, this was purchased to replace my 42" Panasonic Viera GT30b plasma. As expected wide angle viewing is worse than plasma, 4k picture is fantastic (streaming from Netflix), upscaling HD sources also seems very good. Blacks are also blacker than expected which was a welcome surprise.

Connectivity is excellent, onboard recording feature has been drastically enhanced with the option to view live tv while recording another channel.

FirefoxOS offers easily customised home screen to make selecting your favourite channel, sources, apps, etc. extremely fast.
Bad points:
No series link available from TV guide (this is historic Panasonic functionality) so to get this feature you need to purchase a seperate Panasonic freeview recorder.

Adrian, Northern Ireland High spec fanatic

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Great picture. Good sound, quite sufficient for normal residential use. Sound bar not needed unless you require very high volume. Home screen and apps great, particularly Youtube where I watch most of my documentaries and entertainment. Also find the satellite receiver very useful. Just plug in your old Sky connection and you have access to a large number of free channels, many in HD. Better than Freeview in my opinion.
Bad points:
Only faults I can find are that light intensity falls off slightly at edges of screen, and when viewing photographs from a flash drive, many random JPEG photos don't appear but the warning comes up 'File not supported'. This happened before on older equipment and I have not been able to find the cause.

TV Buyers Guide

Manufacturer's Description

4K Ultra HD
With their 3840 × 2160 resolutions, 4K Ultra HD TVs make pictures look so detailed and pristine that you feel like you’re looking at the real world through a window rather than watching TV. Especially when features like high brightness/high colour space panels and the powerful Quad Core Pro Engine are on hand to tease out every last tiny detail 4K has to offer.

4K Studio Master Processor
The panel is the canvas and the processor is the artist. Panasonic’s new 4K Studio Master Processor contains our unrivalled picture processing knowhow from our reference-quality plasma TVs and our professional AV products, to deliver the best possible picture quality true to the director’s intentions. Together with our Wide Colour Phosphor technology, it ensures accurate colours, fine blacks and brilliant brightness.

Local Dimming Pro
LCD TVs usually create pictures with just a few lights all running at the same brightness, making it hard to deliver convincing black colours and sufficient detail in dark areas. Local Dimming Pro, though, provides individual control over a large array of LED lights behind the screen, greatly enhancing contrast. What’s more, dozens of picture ‘zones’ are analysed and adjusted separately to boost shadow detail.

Studio Master Colour
By using special Wide Colour Phosphor Technology capable of producing a wider colour range, It covers more than 90% of DCI standards. Studio Master Colour TVs give you a more subtle, naturally toned colour palette which, unlike most LCD TVs, still looks authentic in any scene.
