An all round excellent TV. I know you can get better, but not for anywhere near the price of this TV. Bang for Buck it is unbeatable.

Frederick, Godalming Multi-purpose viewer

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
As a TV, it's exactly what I wanted. Big high definition screen, Freeview HD, good colour, powerful speakers. Slim, unobtrusive design blends well into the room, despite its size. Totally automated setup - no technical knowledge needed, no need for a manual. Connected to Internet, it updates firmware and software and adds new channels automatically. Solid, nicely weighted remote control with large keypad and a Netflix button for instant access. Helpful for those with less nimble fingers!
Bad points:
SMART features. It's ability to update itself is highly valued but, apart from that, I have little use for them. A slow processor and limited memory make access slow and tedious and a TV remote control is a cumbersome device for browsing the Internet! Have not used Wi-Fi features (Ethernet connection) but the ability to stream images and videos from an i-Pad would be attractive to younger viewers, I expect! (Note: newer models have faster more powerful processors and more memory)

TV Buyers Guide

Manufacturer's Description

The Panasonic CS520 transforms how you watch, share and play. Displaying pictures, videos and games in Full HD, you’ll be able to enjoy a wealth of media content across the 50-inch screen. Panasonic’s myStream service makes it easier to navigate everything too with its intuitive interface and seamless blending of all of your favourite services.

myStream
Organising recommended content into one neat channel, just for you, is myStream. This versatile feature recommends television programmes, video on demand and internet content based on what you most like to watch. It’s like having your own personalised television channel which is easy to navigate around so you can discover more of what you like.

Adaptive Backlight Dimming
The Panasonic CS520 TV screen delivers both deep blacks in dark scenes and plenty of punch in bright scenes. This is all down to Adaptive Backlight Dimming which constantly analyses incoming pictures so that they can continually adjust their light output to produce the optimum picture quality.

Internet Apps
Use a variety of apps across the Panasonic 50” TV screen. Cloud services let you easily use full-fledged, large-data games and a wealth of content services, so you can quickly switch over from watching TV to playing games.

Swipe & Share
With built-in Wi-Fi connectivity you can easily share Smartphone and tablet content on your TV screen. Swipe & Share lets you ‘throw’ content from Smartphones* and tablets onto your TV screen simply by swiping your fingers up your portable devices’ touchscreens. And connecting your smart devices to your TV is now easier than ever, too, thanks to the latest Panasonic TV Remote app.
*Requires iOS 5.0.1 or later, and Android 4.0 or later.

Freetime
Across the range of new Panasonic Viera televisions, you’ll be able to tune in to Freetime. This means that you can enjoy the advantages of a Roll Back TV Guide (for the past seven days across selected channels), access the most popular On Demand services including BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD, Demand 5 and BBC News & Sport and even top recommendations for upcoming programmes with Showcase.
