Score 10.0/10
Good points:
Fantastic picture quality, both from satellite (SKy SD) and DVD. Easy to use. A high "wow" factor, and once wall-mounted, it doesn't dominate the room despite the 42" size of screen. Very pleased with the purchase, especially at the excellent price.
Bad points:
Sound is only OK - clear and clean, but lacking any real depth. Howver, with a home cinema system, this isn't really an issue.

Good points:
just upgraded from Phillips 26 LCD HD Ready and didn't understand fuss about plasma TV's.. until we got this one. The picture is absolutely and, coupled with Sky HD it brings the outdorrs in on nature type programmes. Want to go to Yellowstone now I'vew watched the programmes.
Bad points:
sound quality fine although I thought it was 'bouncing' on bass but realised that a couple of birthday cards had been put behind the speakers! Am planning to buy home cinema kit in near future,

Manufacturer's Description

HD Models with Superb Image Quality and Advanced Networking Capabilities (3 HDMI terminals, SD card slot)

Every image is richly expressive from bright scenes, such as scorching desert landscapes, to dark cave scenes. Contrast is enhanced by the new Real Black Drive system (a pre-discharge control system) and a higher base luminance from improvements made to the panel production process. The high contrast creates deep, robust blacks and reproduces scenes with a delicate balance of light and shadow.

You can enjoy beautiful cinematic reproduction of movie images. The images that are recorded onto movie film at 24 frames per second (fps) are reproduced at two times that speed by 24p Playback. This achieves film-like reproduction than with the 2:3 processing method.

Smooth gradation lends natural expression to images such as sunsets. VIERA brings you the wide colour range of the x.v.Colour standard and the natural colours made possible by the Deep Colour (HDMI™ V.1.3) standard through its compliance with the newest video standards. This allows one to enjoy natural images with rich expression.

In addition to brilliant picture quality, VIERA models offer the easy operation made possible by VIERA Link and the SD card slot. VIERA Link lets you operate other connected Panasonic AV components using only the VIERA TV’s remote control unit. The majority of the VIERA line-up is equipped with a slot for large-capacity SDHC cards. You can view a slideshow of your photos on VIERA’s big beautiful screen just by simply remove the SD memory card from your digital still camera, and slip it in to the slot.
