Score 10.0/10
Good points:
The product design is excellent and would fit in different room sizes. The sound was so good I kept having to turn it down because the floors were rumbling along with the movie.
Bad points:
Lots of wires hanging from the back of the system and to the TV

Good points:
Upscaling of standard dvd's to 1080p resolution is amazing. the sound quality is excellent, giving that 'cinema experience' feel. Fairly easy to use after having a quick flick through the user manual.
Bad points:
Could have done with extra speakers to take it to the 5.1 surround for the money that I paid. Disappointed that the HDMI & digital optical audio cables didn't come as part of the package. If you're paying for the highest quality sound & picture, it makes sense that the high quality link cables should be included.

Score 7.0/10
Good points:
Powerful sound and excellent picture quality.
Bad points:
Slow to respond and to load blu ray and standard DVD discs.

Slow to change between audio inputs.

Extra expenditure required to gain 5.1 or 7.1 speakers.

Although profile 1.1 is loaded, activating menu sounds means DTS HD is not available (you have to switch menu sounds off for this)

Stuart, Ayrshire Old movie buff

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Pretty good picture and sound quality and once I had figured out how to get the rear wireless speakers on line the surround sound is top notch.
Wireless unit seems very reliable as well I have not experienced any issues with interference reported by others and it even works when the receiver is hidden behind an electronic photo frame unit (at the insistence of the wife)
Good one box unit and my normal DVD's really do benefit from the upscaling.
Bad points:
It is a bit complex to set up especially the rear wireless speakers - the manual is not very clear about that but I did succeed.
Cannot imagine why they put an iPod bit in it since the quality of video from these is pretty mundane I would have preferred to have paid less and done without personally since I wanted the unit for watching movies at home.

Manufacturer's Description

The SC-BT100 is compatible with the newest Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD 7.1-channel surround sound formats. Sit back and enjoy the incredibly rich, clear and faithful surround sound these high-data formats make possible.

Panasonic has provided the SC-BT100 with special audio technologies that complement the superb quality of its Blu-ray Disc images. The Bamboo Diaphragm Speaker, which was developed by an extensive study of speaker cone materials, achieves high sound quality. The Kelton Subwoofer produces rich, robust bass tones to match the large-screen, high-resolution images. And by aligning the two woofers directly above and below the tweeter, the Vertical Symmetrical Configuration Speaker achieves sharp, clear sounds.

The SC-BT100 provides 1080/24p output. It reproduces movie images from a Blu-ray Disc in their original 24p form, with no need for conversion. You see movies in the same format used in movie cinemas.

The SC-BT100’s HDMI output is Deep Colour compatible. While the earlier HDMI V.1.2 offers 8-bit, 256-step gradation, HDMI V.1.3 bumps it all the way up to 12-bit, 4,096-step gradation. This helps the SC-BT100 reproduce natural looking colours with smooth gradation and minimal colour banding.

When playing a BD-Video or DVD disc, the P4HD up-converts content recorded in the 480i/p, or 720p format to 1080p with Precise Pixel Generation that generates each pixel from 60 surrounding pixels of information. You enjoy superb 1080p-level image quality.
