David, London UK

Score 7.0/10
Good points:
fits the hand - controls are in the right place and intuitive. USB connection works well. The joystic menu system is good when mastered. Good value for picture quality until HDD comes down in price.
Bad points:
dv connection is compromised by a voltage issue that can easily destroy the operation totally if the pluging order is not exactly followed. Manual focus operation is not easy to understand. The joystick menue system takes some getting used to.

Alan, Haddington

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Very easy to use, good picture quality, battery lasts a reasonable amount of time and recharges quickly.
Bad points:
Difficult to switch off the inbuilt microphone. Software is ok but nothing startling. 4 second delay from switch on to shooting can be a pain.

Confirmed purchase: 11 Oct 2006

Tony, North London

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
High image quality and extremely easy to use in automatic mode, also sensible menus and manual focus ring; clear fold-out screen even in bright conditions
Bad points:
The built-in microphone picks up a rattle if you adjust the focus ring while shooting; more "fader" options would be useful
