Score 8.0/10
Good points:
The zoom level is great at x20 much higher than my previous camera which is one main reason I bought it. I also discovered a panorama feature it has which is excellent. It has a rechargeable battery which I guess they all do these days but beats my previous camera which got through large quantities of alkalines.
Bad points:
The biggest disappointment is that I did ask if it had the option to put date on the photographs and was told it did. I really value such a feature. It does have it but it is incredibly cumbersome to use. What I wanted was just an option you could select once then all your photos have date on unless you go in and change it to not have date, my old camera had that and I really miss it. But to put the date you have to go through a menu rigmarole each time and select each photo you want a date on. Then it saves it as a different photo atba different place in the sequence of photos so when you are looking at your photos the order can appear confused. Sometimes photos appear overexposed and other times not, especially mote overexposed under high zoom, this is on automatic. I have spent some hours reading the manual but it is still difficult for the likes of me to extract in my mind a simple way just to take good photographs. I wish it were a bit more friendly for the non-photographer.
