The Panasonic WX970 Camcorder allows you to elevate your creativity with 4k video. Enjoy greater detail, HDR exposure and improved camera control with Level Shot Function and 5-Axis HYDRIB O.I.S+.
Get the detail in 4K video
The WX970 is made to film in 4K. With four times the resolution than Full HD, video is captured in crisp detail. When footage is down-converted to Full HD, the data will have even better definition and clarity than those filmed in Full-HD.
Recording in 4K resolution gives you greater flexibility when it comes to editing your video. Draw focus to specific actions and shape your stories with creative use of scale, pan and crops.
Capture the perfect moment
The 4K Photo function lets you capture those ‘perfect’ moments by extracting individual frames as 8 MP images.
Leica lens: made for 4K
A specially developed Leica Dicomar lens, with 20x optical zoom (in 4K), will help you find your perfect shot. For those who shoot from the hip, the WX970 has a superior focus speed.
Leica lens: no distortion
The Leica Dicomar lens is designed to alleviate distortion and minimise ghosting and flare. It provides excellent resolution even when footage is enlarged, so your shots are always crisp and clear.
HDR Video: perfect exposure
When filming in high contrast environments, such as indoors or in bright sunshine, footage can be underexposed in some areas and over in others. Backgrounds look bleached nd subjects in the foreground appear in shadow. The WX970 captures footage in HDR, belding different exposures together to create completely balanced video.
Smoother more stable shots
A number of features are built into the WX970 to counteract unwanted movement. Level Shot Function detects tilt and automatically corrects footage. But sometimes you might want a ‘handheld’ effect so there are three settings: strong, normal and off. The 5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S+ feature also stabilises your footage, automatically compensating blur from camera zooms and walking.
Twin Camera: two points of view
The WX970 has an additional camera on the side of the display to help you capture different points of view, or provide narration for your footage. Video appears as picture-in-picture, and the camera also features an electrical zoom and dedicated titling.
