Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Great control pad integration- great for gaming

Front facing speakers

Expandable storage

nVidia services complement the vanilla android experiance

Powerful specs for a great price
Bad points:
Battery could be better- I get about 4 hours screen on time with general use

As its a gaming device a 64gb version would have been good. Some apps do not like expandable storage.

It's heavy. If you're not a mobile gamer go for another device

It can lag sometimes

Good points:
being able to play PC games via WiFi in bed for someone that's disabled is a bliss and to have this tablet. its sturdy controller is amazing to use compared to a console controller. the graphics look really crisp and the free game trine 2 really shows you that with the game's vibrant colours appearing almost exactly like what you'd see on pc. the micro SD card slot is a nice welcome to just use to store any android only games. real good blast to play on even if there's quite a few nit-picks i have with the tablet itself.
Bad points:
the battery life is short so if you intend to play games for over an hour at a stretch then make sure to get plugged to the mains. the tablet does get hot from gaming too so that's a bummer but for being a gaming tablet i guess that's one of the gripes you have to bear with. the cables are nice and long but really feel a bit tacky like it's made super cheap also don't expect to feel comfortable in holding the tablet on one side as it can creak on the top and bottom of the tablet. the edges feel uncomfortable if you had to hold it in one hand to watch say YouTube as the edges are not smooth.

Derek,

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Very fast and good stylus software.

It takes sd cards up to 128 and has a decent front camera.

Music and videos play well too.
Bad points:
Screen is quite reflective and battery life could be better. Perhaps this will be dealt with by the next android update which is due soon.

Good points:
The Nvidia Game Grid is the best thing about this tablet, enables you to stream games from Nvidia's servers. Great performance. Who needs a console when you've got this?
Bad points:
Needs the controller, should come packaged with controller as part of the price.

In benchmarks its the 5 fastest tablet they have tested only beaten out by microsofts surface pro line. The design is exellent and everything else is brilliant. Especially nvidia grid
Bad points:

Good points:
Great piece of kit. Well supported by Nvidia; around 4 firmware updates since December.

Fast, and comes with some great features unique to the Shield; screen recording, twitch streaming, in home streaming (from you PC) and internet streaming (from narnia or something)
Bad points:
Weird button layout makes it difficult to do certain things when in landscape mode.

Battery life isn't great unless you turn off WiFi when on standby

A tad small.

Good points:
have had a lot of tablets, samsung, htc flyer, transformer etc and imo this is definately the best.
The european released device, mine, seems to have non of the previous usa release's problems,in fact far as i can figure it out performs the us device by far.
Obviously it helps to have a keen interest in all things android,a certain amount of adult maturity and patience when customising it to your expectations and an understanding of how this tech works.
if you havent got any of this then i reccomend returning to your apple consumer device and go back to being led by the nose, nothing wrong with that, just some humans are simply too stupid to own certain tech.
Bad points:
Not a dislike as such,i had a problem with accessing an AP running via windows 7,refusal to login etc.
This was fixed by simply unticking "IPV6" option in the connection properties.not a single problem since.
Obviously Android lollipop is brand new and requires methodical investigating to get to its potential, but then so does any new operating system.
