Good points:
The graphics of this game really take advantage of the 3d system (good detail in the fur and eyes especially) and I like the new walk function which, unlike the previous nintendogs titles, allows you to physically walk through the streets with your dog and meet other pet owners while going to cafes and shops (speaking of, there are a lot of new shops to go to). You can also link your game with the pedometer feature on the console which is a good encouragment to actually walk around! The cats are a cute addition but really there for the novelty of owning one :). I also like how you can furnish your home with individual items (e.g dog beds, shelves) rather than just choosing an overall style (you can still buy themes) Also (and this is going to be really girly) The puppies in this game are ADORABLE!
Bad points:
The pet interaction section of this game can be a bit annoying as the 'hand' tends to curve around the side of the dog. They have taken away agility trials from the last game which was my personal favourite but have replaced it with lure coursing that you may prefer :D. Minimal cat features (you cannot walk them or enter them in competitions) which if you think about it is rather true to life. Also, there are now different 'personalities' as such (when you are picking your dog, there is sometimes one that falls over and is a bit dizzy) I picked one of these as a starter dog and she tends to get confused which makes it hard to pass obedience trials so you may want to pick a more stable dog to help set you up first time around. I would also say that it is very different from the original nintedogs titles (what with new graphics + ideas) so I wouldn't buy it just for a 3d version of the old games. :)
