Good points:
Great twin lens package. Simple to use, great first DSLR in my opinion. This is my first fray into the DSLR world and am extremely pleased with my purchase. Good images, quick at taking pictures compared to my previous Digital camera. Doesn't miss the pics! Also like the features to take multiple shots at the flick of a switch.

Easy in auto but has the options to go fully manual, you would struggle to see the difference between a picture from this and a d700 (just takes a little more time to get it right with this)

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
An excellent value entry DSLR; compact and lightweight. So far it has delivered consistently good results in automatic, scenic & manual modes. Though regarded as having ben superseded by higher spec models, the D3100 is still a great piece of equipment for the keen amateur.
Bad points:
slightly slow continuous drive rate. Obviously the later D3200 & D3300 have higher specification, but conversely there is price implications with these later models
