John, Essex Top quality is paramount

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
I purchased this camera solely for use with my Nikon spotting scope--Digiscoping for Birds.
The 12meg,sensor chip and lens all marry together very well in what can only be described as a super little camera--you only have to hold the camera in your palm and feel the ruggedness of the body ,this is no plastic cup.
I'll just say that the features suit me for Digiscoping, the ergonomics are fine--I particuarly like the D lighting
and the interval timer for time-lapse photography , of course the self timer is an important part of the set-up for me as well.
My pictures are as good and in most cases better, according to a pro wildlife photo friend of mine ---he uses a full blown Dslr with the same Nikon ED 82 scope as mine. I must stress, this is qualitywise and not based on picture content, I think he's going to purchase one!
Pictures taken with this camera, given a little tickle in Photoshop (using levels and unsharp mask only)
can, because of the large 12 mp give you stunning enlargements --of course you can crop to your hearts content without losing too much detail !---Marvellous !
Bad points:
I particually do not like the Burst mode--or lack of it--1 frame p/sec---even with a 4mg SDHC card shunting it along--like watching paint dry, I need a decent burst mode with digiscoping because you can be sure ---shooting with a lens equivelent (35mm) of roughly 1500mm, you are going to expect at least 80% material for deletion---more the pics the better chance of a masterpiece. May I say, for the majority of photographers who need a top quality small camera---this camera is a little gem.
No raw mode---I don't find this too much of a problem--compression isn't too bad 4000X3000--12 mg--fine.
I have reviewed this camera with a speciallist need in mind---the results Top Draw!

Good points:
Compact size, ease of use. Logical layout of features.
As a compact, especially at the offer price of GBP99, this is a good buy.
Bad points:
Doesn't handle low light conditions well (unfortunately my otrgher camera is a Nikon D70s which is obviously more expensive and capable of better results)

Good points:
I like having a viewfinder (especially useful on bright days). Very compact with many useful features. Good grip
Bad points:
Not so much relating to the camera, but the carrying case which I bought with it is worse than useless, especially as it will not accommodate spare battery and memory card
