Good points:
Bought this camera for a trip to New York - havent been yet but have been using it and getting used to features etc. plenty of different options - even a pet potrait setting - the smile detector is also good fun. Excellent zoom, pictures are very clear. can have a slight problem with shake at max zoom, but only occasionally. like the fact it uses aa batteries as it means i can have 2 sets and wont run out if using the whole day. Pictures take quickly - hate cameras that take ages to take the picture after you press shoot. some reviews say it doesnt work well in low light, i have found that the pictures come out pretty well in low light. overall good camera for general use.
Bad points:
have to push a button for flash to pop up - not automatic, but not a real problem

Good points:
Small, neat, with magnificent zoom facility without the hassle of changing lenses. Enlarging and cropping pictures whilst on the move is a huge advantage. Macro is brilliant on flowers and small insects giving fantastic close ups in
perfect picture quality. Days out are a pleasure with this camera as no extra lenses or equipment to carry around. Definitely worth every penny.
Bad points:
Only fault is it is slightly heavy but what can one expect with all the good features it has. Then again its still lighter and more compact than an SLR.

Manufacturer's Description

The COOLPIX L120 is successor to the L110. It offers an effective pixel count of 14.1-million pixels, a 21X optical zoom NIKKOR lens that covers a broad range of focal lengths from wide-angle 25mm through super-telephoto 525mm (35mm format equivalent), and a 3-inch, approximately 921k-dot (VGA) TFT LCD monitor with wide viewing angle. In addition, new features to improve the performance of this high-power zoom L-series model, including a new side zoom control and flash pop-up button, have been adopted without any sacrifice to the elegant design or compact size.
Further, the power-efficient The COOLPIX L120 is capable of capturing approximately 330 still images or roughly three hours and five minutes of HD movies with stereo sound using the supplied AA alkaline batteries.
