Steve, Crowborough

Score 9.0/10
Good points:
Clear announcements can be heard with radio on. Size is just right and easily slips into a pocket.
Bad points:
Must wait until satellites get a fix before driving off (up to 2-3 mins) or it may be several miles later before this happens. If you lose the signal on route you may need to stop to speed up the link again. You may need to alter the routing requirements depending on your particular journey, for example shortest route in town is ideal, but out of town it could take you down narrow country lanes making the journey not as quick as a longer route via 'A' roads.

Umar, Coventry

Score 8.0/10
Good points:
Great design and handy size to move from one car to another.
Bad points:
1) Shame about the accuracy... it did end up taking me down dead ends and commercial sites whilst indicating directions towards the M4.
2) The names of the roads are shown in red boxes which overlap the roads and any other information on the screen. This is really irritating and confuses the user whilst cluttering up the screen at the same time.

Satellite Navigation Buyers Guide

Manufacturer's Description

With our iCN 520, you can do that – and we thought you’d like it to do a bit more too.

POI alert

Alongside its easy-to-use menus and clear 3.5” high-definition touch-screen, the iCN 520 lets you import your own Points of Interest (POIs). You’ll then know in advance where the nearest petrol station, car park, restaurant – or even safety camera – is, for example

It can even alert you when you’re near a particular POI, as well as letting you plan and review your route how you want – and add in multiple destinations.

Accurate to within 5 metres

The iCN 520 also works straight out of the box. What’s more, once it’s got its GPS fix, it’s typically accurate to within 5 metres.

And because we don’t always follow instructions, the iCN 520 automatically recalculates your route with its Back-on-Track™ program. Just in case, mind.
