NAD’s iPod Dock is an easy and convenient way to enjoy iPod based music and video. This attractive dock features a weighted base and a rubber foot to provide a stable platform for your iPod. It functions with the iPod 4G and iPod 5G, as well as the Mini, Nano, Photo, Video, Classic and Touch models. The NAD iPod Dock, in addition to being a convenient spot for your iPod when at home also performs these functions: 1) sends stereo audio signals via gold plated RCA Jacks (phono plugs) to your amplifier or receiver; 2) sends video signals via S-Video from your iPod Video to your receiver or TV; 3) charges your iPod battery. A one meter cable is included to connect the Dock to your amplifier or receiver – many other manufacturers do not supply the leads required, so beware! While this cable is very good quality, you have the option to use ‘audiophile’ cables of your choice for maximum performance. The compact charging module is a ‘universal’ type that will work with any AC voltage from 100V – 240V and includes plug adaptors for different regions worldwide. For those with compatible NAD amplifiers the dock can be connected to your NAD’s Data Port to enable full control of the iPod through your NAD’s remote – track listing and other iPod data can then be read from the amplifier’s display. The IPD-2 now features a remote control to enable you to utilise the functions of your iPod from a distance; when connected to the TV the iPod’s screen will be displayed on the TV. We supply high-quality QED cables should you wish to upgrade the leads supplied or to purchase a S-Video interconnect. We recommend the ‘Performance Audio 2’ stereo leads (please enter “QED Performance Audio 2” into the Amazon search bar) and the QED Performance S-Video (please enter “QED Performance S-Video” into the Amazon search bar).
